Lead Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Summary/Objective

The Lead Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the assembly and testing of high precision products of varying complexity, under minimal supervision.  This person will also be responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed. This person will be responsible for managing the resources required to maintain the manufacturing environment and ensure timely completion of high-quality products that conform to all documented requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Assemble various subassemblies, standards, and special products according to regulatory, organizational, and procedural requirements.
  • Accurate fitting, aligning, and adjusting required to very close tolerances or precision fits subject to strict inspection.
  • Ability to cut, strip, solder, crimp and terminate small gauge wire according to specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Set up and test complete products to determine compliance with exacting operating requirements using automated and manual testing methods.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean manufacturing environment.

This job operates in a dedicated laboratory in a professional manufacturing environment.  Employees in this role routinely use electrical test equipment, standard hand tools, and microscopes, as well as some office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Quality Assurance Technician 

Summary/Objective

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring the overall process to assure that product exiting the process is correct.  Monitoring includes mechanical and visual inspection of precision parts for dimensional and visual compliance to established procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for inspection of incoming product to established drawings and standards.
  • Responsible for In-Process Inspection of product to drawings and standards.
  • Responsible for providing inspection support to all departments in the organization.
  • Document Non-Conforming Material per established procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Required Competencies

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Machine shop process knowledge; turning, milling.
  • Experience with CMM (programming skills preferred, such as Mitutoyo MCOSMOS).
  • Knowledge of the gear manufacturing processes of shaping, hobbing and shot peening and cleaning helpful.
  • Knowledge of crimping and soldering termination inspection is helpful.
  • Programming CMM from 3D solid models is helpful.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (read and interpret).
  • Mechanical Inspection of precision part.
  • Must be able to multi-task without losing track of details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office)

Senior Buyer

Summary/Objective

The Buyer is responsible for the development, planning and execution of procurement strategies for precision electro-mechanical commodities. Candidate will support related administrative functions to maintain AS9100 certification. Strong working knowledge of MRP and best purchasing practices is a must.

Essential Functions

  • Create Purchase Orders; maintain accurate open PO lines to define inbound quantities and due dates from suppliers.
  • Mange supplier performance including key performance metrics such as On Time Delivery and Quality Assurance Rating.
  • Drive problem solving and corrective action for suppliers with process or execution deficiencies.
  • Work with cross functional teams to support company needs and provide best solutions.
  • Develop, implement and negotiate procurement strategies to provide best total landed cost. Maintain inventory levels to meet company needs while achieving cost management goals.
  • Partner with internal customers when needed to expedite purchase requisitions or identify solutions for supply chain disruptions, which may include the sourcing of alternative providers.
  • Appropriately escalate any known supply chain disruptions, order discrepancies, or contract matters for internal review and remediation.

Material Team Member

Summary/Objective

The Materials Team Member is responsible for performing all duties involving shipping, receiving, stockroom, bar stock sawing and inventory control associated with these duties with minimal supervision.  Inventory control requires working knowledge of Material Requirements planning systems (MRP).

Essential Functions

Shipping

  • Ship products to customers based on instructions from our ERP (Enterprise Requirement Planning) system.
  • Communicate with personnel throughout the organization to resolve various special shipping instructions.
  • Package and label assembled product after final inspection per instructions.
  • Place assembled output and products received from our parent company into correct storage locations.
  • Assemble a variety of subassemblies, standard and special products using established procedures.
  • Prepare shipments of our parts to outside vendors.
  • Request & file vendor PO’s.

Stock Control

  • Issue and move blanks to manufacturing per job package.
  • Issue parts to assembly kits.  Review kit shortage frequently.  Move completed kits to assembly area.
  • Place completed manufactured parts and purchased parts into stock locations.  Move Inspection items to INSP location and into stock after inspection.
  • Daily cycle counts and determine best stock locations to optimize space and reduce chance of issue errors.

Receiving

  • Receive material into our ERP system and move items to appropriate storage location or area.
  • Count and identify incoming material.
  • Receive RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) and store as appropriate.
  • Operate and maintain fork lift truck to include recharging the battery and adding water every Friday afternoon.

Saw/Heat Treat

  • Receive bar stock into ERP system, add ID mark and store bar stock.
  • Saw and heat treat bar stock per shop package instruction.

Machine Operators I

Summary/Objective

HDLLC Machine Operators are responsible for the manufacture and inspection of high precision products in many instances, the operator is the ‘final inspector’ before the parts are in the customer’s hands. Machine Operators are expected to set up and operate various CNC machines used to manufacture parts used in harmonic gears and gearheads, as well as correctly interpret documentation, and accurately measure their work.

Essential Functions

  • Perform various repetitive machining operations primarily on production work or tooling.
  • Machine precision products from drawings under minimal supervision and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operate various types of machinery, CNC milling, turning and CNC or manual gear making equipment in production following established procedures.
  • Setup tools to precise tolerances in accordance with established procedures.
  • Transmit or receive CNC program information, maintain computerized or manual records as required.
  • Inspect own work.
  • Perform other duties as required.
