Summary/Objective

The Software Developer II will plan, design and develop software programs for internal employees as well as assist with corporate website design and functionality.  The role will also include DevOps tasks that are completed with Docker and Kubernetes. Project Engineer

Summary/Objective

Candidates to possess an understanding of power transmission and electromechanical motion products.    Experience and knowledge in manufacturing, assembly, testing, and automated processes.  Ability to function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in collaboration on multiple projects and tasks with other departments is required.  Must be able to lead, manage, and take ownership of projects.  Experience in CAD design and detailing using SolidWorks along with a good foundation in GD&T would be helpful.

Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Machining

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing necessary support to Production in the manufacture and inspection of high precision products. This individual will work with employees from all departments to ensure the highest possible quality, maximize schedule attainment, and improve product flow.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews product designs for manufacturability including tolerances, quality requirements, cost and other issues affecting manufacturability.
  • Prepares manufacturing sketches, machine shop setup sheets, CNC programs, and tooling designs.
  • Programs CNC machines, resolves start-up problems, and optimizes feeds and speeds to achieve minimum run time consistent with acceptable quality and adequate tool life.
  • Performs shop-floor troubleshooting activities to diagnose and correct machinery and process problems identified by machine shop personnel and manufacturing engineering staff.
  • Works hands-on with a wide variety of CNC lathes, machining centers, and other machines / equipment.

Quality Engineer

Summary/Objective

The primary responsibilities include assisting in examination and approval of components and finished products, equipment, processes and related documentation. Utilizing different tools and techniques, the Quality Engineer will help ensure that only the highest quality products are delivered to our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts and supports investigations of manufacturing nonconformities; recommends, develops and implements effective corrective actions.
  • Coordinates, collects, analyzes and distributes quality monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Uses analytical methods to assess product and process performance and quantify the effect of changes.
  • Participates in audits conducted by regulatory agencies and/or customers.
  • Conducts internal audits of processes and outcomes.

Competencies

  • Experience with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certification and FDA’s 21CFR 820 preferred.

Regional Sales Engineer – San Jose, CA


Summary/Objective
The Regional Sales Engineer works within an assigned territory and is the primary person responsible for business development and support of existing customers.  The Sales Engineer identifies customer needs and works with the customer to select Harmonic Drive products with features or options that provide optimal solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Provides technical assistance and application guidance to customer’s engineering personnel to establish new business and maintain existing business.
  • Develops and maintains customer commercial relationships. Represents the customer voice as needed to ensure customer satisfaction with RMA's, deliveries, pricing, product warranties, etc. 
  • Addresses customer related concerns through activities such as purchase order reviews, pricing analysis, RMA handling, and expediting
  • Maintains records in company CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) for all accounts in territory and inputs information including: visits and communications, contact information, opportunity tracking, application data, technical requirements, products used or being considered, competition activities, customer feedback, etc.

  • Five years minimum experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies
  • Relevant product and industry knowledge (technical knowledge of precision motion control a plus)
  • MRP or ERP experience
  • Experience maintaining and launching websites, CRM experience a plus
  • Experience in a global business a plus
