Mechanical Assembler I

Summary/Objective
The Mechanical Assembler I is responsible for assembling high-precision products of varying complexity under a more experienced employee's guidance.  This person will also be responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed. 

Essential Functions

  • Under the direction of a more experienced employee, assemble a variety of subassemblies, standard and unique products, using established procedures
  • Accurate fitting, aligning, and adjusting required to very close tolerances or precision fits subject to strict inspection.

Material Handler I

Summary/Objective
The Material Handler I is responsible for performing all duties involving shipping, receiving, stockroom, bar stock sawing and inventory control associated with these duties with minimal supervision.  Inventory control requires working knowledge of Material Requirements planning systems (MRP).

Essential Functions

SHIPPING

  • Ship products to customers based on instructions from our ERP (Enterprise Requirement Planning) system.
  • Communicate with personnel throughout the organization to resolve various special shipping instructions.
  • Package and label assembled product after final inspection per instructions
  • Place assembled output and products received from our parent company into correct storage locations.
  • Assemble a variety of subassemblies, standard and special products using established procedures.
  • Prepare shipments of our parts to outside vendors.
  • Request & file vendor PO’s

STOCK CONTROL

  • Issue and move blanks to manufacturing per job package
  • Issue parts to assembly kits. Review kit shortage frequently.  Move completed kits to assembly area.
  • Place completed manufactured parts and purchased parts into stock locations. Move Inspection items to INSP location and into stock after inspection
  • Daily cycle counts and determine best stock locations to optimize space and reduce chance of issue errors.

RECEIVING

  • Receive material into our ERP system and move items to appropriate storage location or area
  • Count and identify incoming material.
  • Receive RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) and store as appropriate
  • Operate and maintain fork lift truck to include recharging the battery and adding water every Friday afternoon

SAW HEAT TREAT

  • Receive bar stock into ERP system, add ID mark and store bar stock
  • Saw and heat treat bar stock per shop package instruction

 

  • Other responsibilities as required.

Sr Quality Control Technician

Summary/Objective

Senior Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing and documenting FAIs, receiving, in-process and final inspection to ensure product conforms to all applicable requirements.

 Essential Functions

  • Applies advanced knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program CMM’s/vision systems to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers.
  • Train other inspectors and technicians.
  • Work with Quality Engineering and perform validation and verification of programs (CMM, vision systems, etc.).
  • Participate or lead special projects related to tooling fixtures and gages.
  • Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle.
  • Works closely with the team to determine efficiency gaps, and to implement improvements.
  • Create CMM programs using part drawings or models and perform inspections as required.
  • Troubleshoot and/or amend existing CMM programs.
  • Create instructions for using inspection tools and systems.
  • Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform part inspection and FAIs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Competencies

  • Expert in reading blueprints and full understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment: e.g., Calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, surface plates, optical comparators, microscopes, coordinate measuring machine, profilometers, hardness/durometer testers.
  • Proficiency with CMM programming in MCOSMOS highly desired.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, data entry skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to foster positive relationships with all functional groups.
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office).
  • Understands travelers and work instructions.
  • Strong desire to learn and to apply new skills.
  • Problem solving ability with an organized & analytical approach.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to ever-changing fast-paced environment.
